The 47th Annual East Texas Poultry Festival, Thursday through Saturday, October 5-7, is just days away. The Fajita Lunch and Doo-Dah Parade Wednesday signaled the start of next week’s festivities.
See inside this edition, the 47th Annual East Texas Poultry Festival pullout guide featuring the Poultry Festival Queen’s pageant plans for Saturday, Sept. 30 at 7:00 p.m at the Center High School Cafetorium and complete schedule of festival weekend events.
Set up on the square is underway. This year, San Augustine Street and Austin Street will be closed to thru traffic starting around 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4. Three ticket booths will be available this year: one at each corner of San Augustine Street (same as last year), and an additional booth at the corner of Austin and Nacogdoches Street.
Below is the set-up schedule for tents, carnival etc.
• Coupon Booth – Wednesday, September 27 on inside of the square, next to the inner sidewalk across from The Forge. This will affect only a few parking spots on the inside square.
• Main tent concrete – Thursday, September 28. This will affect all the inside of the square on San Augustine side and partial Austin Street (across from Citizens Bank, County Clerk’s office and All Hours Fitness)
• Main tents – Sunday, October 1 – Same as above
• Carnival – Tuesday, October 3 – inside of the square on Shelbyville Street and Nacogdoches Street. Please DO NOT PARK on the inside of the square after 5 p.m. Tuesday, October 3.
Please arrange for alternate parking if you usually park on the inside of the square. Everything will be back to normal Sunday, October 8.
