GILFORD — Gilford Rotary is teaming with Greens & Beans to present Blooms, Brews & BBQ on Saturday, May 18, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., at Greens & Beans on Intervale Road in Gilford. There will be activities for the family including live music by Karen Grenier who is returning from last year, greenhouse tours, corn hole toss, firetruck tour, farm animal petting zoo and games for the kids. Tickets for the Kids Fun Park will also be available to purchase.

Downtown fun returns to Canal Street for first summer block party
The second season for Canal Street Block Parties kicked off Saturday afternoon downtown. About 200 people attended the block party throughout the day. While this attendance was expected for May, organizer Dan McLaughlin hopes turnout to be higher for upcoming events due to higher local as well as tourist traffic, and the additions of new businesses, activities and events. Man sentenced to several decades in prison for killing 2 women in Farmington
DOVER, N.H. — The man convicted of murdering two women in Farmington has been sentenced to more than 90 years in prison. Timothy Verrill, who in April was convicted of two counts of second-degree murder and five counts of falsifying physical evidence, was sentenced to 45 years to life on each of the murder convictions. CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — A bipartisan bill drafted in the response to the fatal shooting of a New Hampshire Hospital security guard has hit a roadblock in the state Senate. LEBANON, Maine — Residents in Lebanon voted to give additional funding to the town's fire and EMS department in a special vote on Saturday.
