Rock’N Race returns May 8
Run (or walk) to this year’s annual Rock’N Race on Wednesday, May 8. Be sure to dress up like your favorite superhero on race day!. Participants with a variety of abilities will run/walk a 5K or walk a shorter 1-mile loop through downtown Concord while raising funds for Concord Hospital Payson Center for Cancer Care. The Starting Bell Rings at 6 p.m.

Pennsylvania man accused of trying to burn down New Hampshire woman's home with Molotov cocktail
A man has been arrested after he was accused of traveling from Pennsylvania to threaten and try to burn down the house of a Laconia woman he met online. According to court paperwork, the woman and Andrew Benavides had never met in person, but he allegedly traveled to New Hampshire to seek revenge after she ended the relationship.

The April 22 selectboard meeting was uneventful: we held a non-public session, reviewed and approved meeting minutes, held a public hearing on a property lot restoration that had been involuntarily merged by the town, reviewed and approved two items relative to financial impact to the town, and approved committee appointments.

Pillar Gallery announces fourth exhibition
PILLAR Gallery + Projects is a new exhibition space in Concord. Their fourth exhibition, Into The Ether, will be on view until June 7. Into the Ether, focuses on the nebulous and ephemeral — in hazy, high-key abstraction, airy pastels and immersive installation. Memory and myth are explored, even if in fleeting moments. The group exhibition includes works by Sung Won Yun, Kevin Xiques, Lydia Kinney and Samantha Eckert.
