Western Virginia lab schools face additional requirement to secure funding
ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - Three lab schools moving forward in western Virginia are facing a new requirement and a looming deadline as they work to ensure state funding. The state board of education approved applications from Emory and Henry College, Roanoke College and Mountain Gateway Community College earlier this year. But new budget language specifies lab schools must be established by public institutions of higher education that offer four-year degrees.
