16th Annual Baby Steps Memorial Run happening this weekend

SPRINGVILLE, Ala. ( WIAT ) — The 16th Annual Baby Steps Memorial Run is happening on September 14.

Race Co-Founder Abby Nicholas joined CBS 42 News at Noon to discuss the event and how those interested can get involved. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Amelia Center at Children’s of Alabama, a nonprofit program supporting grieving children, parents and families that runs off of donations.

The Amelia Center offers free grief counseling to parents and grandparents who have suffered the loss of a child and also to children who have lost loved ones.

The race is taking place at Homestead Hollow, 1161 Murphrees Valley Rd, Springville, AL, at 7 a.m. Same-day registration is available.
