Man killed in Cullman County crash

CULLMAN COUNTY, Ala. ( WIAT ) — A Holly Pond man is dead following a single-vehicle crash in Cullman County on Sunday, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports.

Derek L. Humphries, 36, was killed when the 2020 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle he was operating left the roadway and struck a guardrail. He was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash occurred around 4:40 p.m. on Interstate 65 near the 316-mile marker, about three miles north of Vinemont. Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are investigating the crash.
