Restaurant inspections: Round Table Pizza, Tony's Grill & Bar, more score 'A' grades
Coachella Valley restaurants had no problem passing their Riverside County health inspections this week, according to reports conducted May 23 through 29. Some of the restaurants that received "A" grades include Round Table Pizza in Cathedral City, Mi Tierra Bakery in Coachella and Tony's Grill & Bar in Palm Springs. WaBa Grill and Huerta's Restaurant were visited again by inspectors following their most recent failed inspections, and both eateries scored "A" grades as well.

Surgery suite debuts at the Coachella Valley Animal Campus
A new surgery suite has opened at the Coachella Valley Animal Campus in Thousand Palms on Wednesday. The animal campus opened in 2006 without a surgical suite because of a partnership with Animal Samaritans, the region's leader in spay and neuter surgeries. New Animal Surgical Center Opens at County Shelter in CV
A surgical suite dedicated to spay and neuter operations for cats and dogs is now active at the Coachella Valley Animal Campus in Thousand Palms, officials said Thursday. “We knew we needed to increase spay and neuter capacity, and we appreciate the support from the Board of Supervisors to make that a reality,” Riverside County Department of Animal Services Director Erin Gettis said. “Everyone knows that pet overpopulation remains a big problem throughout the country. Spay and neuter surgeries are critical to solving this problem.”
