A little warmer for Thursday with a slight chance for rain; more rain later this week
Indianapolis has received almost two inches of rain over the past two days and up to three inches of rain has fallen across parts of central Indiana during that time frame. Thursday will be warmer with a mix of sun and clouds as high temperatures rise back to near 80° in the afternoon. While most of the day will be dry, a few isolated to widely scattered showers may develop late Thursday afternoon through the evening.

Heavy rain continues Wednesday morning
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An additional 1″ of rainfall will be possible through lunchtime, Wednesday. An area of low pressure continues to swirl in southern Indiana. Creating scattered showers and thunderstorms through here early this morning. Some heavy downpours have been noted. There is a flood advisory effect for much of the metro area until mid-morning. Some areas have picked up as much as 3 inches of rainfall since Tuesday afternoon. An additional 1″ of rainfall is possible for this morning.

Wednesday starts wet but ends with late day sunshine
It’s a very soggy start to our Wednesday with ongoing scattered rainfall in central Indiana. The rain has not been spread evenly. Some have received much more than others. Indianapolis picked up more than 1″ of rainfall on Tuesday with totals already over 1/2″ for Wednesday. Shelbyville picked up more than 3″ of rainfall just this morning from a slow moving thunderstorm. Meanwhile, as of 7 AM Wednesday morning, other areas, like Lafayette, have only received a combined total near 1/4″ of rain from both days.
