With winter coming, there's no timeline yet of getting the Red Covered Bridge in Princeton back open. A recent update from the Illinois Department of Transportation said repairs are being evaluated, and no opening date has been set. The historic bridge built in 1864 was heavily damaged by a semi on Thursday, November 16th. The bridge is closed to traffic until further notice.
