Suspect Arrested After Pointing Gun At Person In Castaic

An assault suspect was taken into custody in Stevenson Ranch Thursday morning after he allegedly pointed a gun at a person in Castaic.

Thursday morning, deputies received reports of an assault with a deadly weapon call on the 31000 block of Castaic Road in Castaic , said Sgt. Keith Greene, with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station .

“He pointed a gun at someone and then took off,” Greene said.

California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers located the vehicle on the southbound 5 Freeway approaching Lyons Avenue.

A traffic stop was initiated, and the driver exited the 5 Freeway at Lyons Avenue/Pico Canyon Road.

Sheriff’s deputies took the suspect into custody with the help of the CHP.

Initial reports stated the suspect had an adult passenger and two children in the vehicle.
