A Castaic man was arrested Thursday for elder abuse after he allegedly assaulted and hospitalized his stepfather.
Around 3:30 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to an assault on the 32200 block of Big Oak Lane in Castaic, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“During a verbal argument between the 67-year-old victim and his stepson, the suspect pushed the victim to the ground and continued to physically assault him,” Arriaga said.
The victim sustained injury and was transported to a local hospital for further medical evaluation, according to Sheriff’s officials.
Kenneth Hamilton, 29, from Castaic, was arrested on scene for assault with a deadly weapon and elder abuse, both felonies, Arriaga said.
Hamilton was booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and remains in custody as of Monday morning, Arriaga said.
