Music, food and more planned at 23rd annual Windber Miners' Memorial Day Weekend
WINDBER ― The community's 23rd annual celebration of its mining and ethnic heritage is taking place Thursday through Sunday along Graham Avenue. The Miners' Memorial Day Weekend features live music, dancing, food and craft vendors, truck, car and motorcycle shows, a basket party, fireworks and other events. The four-day festival is sponsored by the Eureka Coal Heritage Foundation, with financial support from various local residents and businesses. Proceeds from the festival help the foundation maintain community resources like the town clock, Miners Park and the Arcadia Theater.
