Cass County Sheriff's Office was responding to a welfare check on Nash Road
Cass County Sheriff's Office says a man pointed a gun at deputies in the 32000 block of Nash Road.
Deputies were called to the residence for a welfare check just after 2 p.m. on Friday.
Law enforcement at the scene established a perimeter while the Cass County Tactical Response Team was deployed.
Following several hours of negotiations, the suspect exited the house and was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect has been identified as James Kenedy, a 41-year-old from Harrisonville, Missouri.
He has been charged with fourth-degree assault and is currently being housed in the Cass County Jail with a bond set at $5,000.
