SUV overturns off 249 near Carterville, motor ‘cold to the touch’

On scene we learn a single vehicle crash occurred about the 5.3 mile marker. Tpr J.D. Fischer tells KOAM’s Shannon Becker due to the scratch marks along the SUV it began overturning before it left the highway to the right.

When first-responders arrived before dawn to the overturned vehicle there was no one in or around the crash. And the motor was cold to the touch. Meaning the crash would have occurred hours earlier.

Along the trail the SUV left going down the east embankment were a variety of tools and work-related items.

Schrader’s Towing removed the SUV and debris from the scene.
