THOMPSON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Carrington Cardinals Softball team lost two games at the Region 2 tourney on Monday, 17-0 to MayPort/CG-HN, and 12-2 to Pembina County North, both by 10-run rule. Carrington ends their season in fourth place at the region tournament in just their second year of the program and finish at 7-8 overall.

The Cardinals were the six seed out of 10 teams heading into the tourney last week Saturday, they upset the number three seeded and ranked tenth in the state, the Grafton Spoilers, 15-14 to advance to Mondays action.

The championship game will be played Tuesday at 3pm, that will feature No. 5 Thompson against No. 8 MPCG/HN. PCN will take on the loser of that game at 5pm in a state qualifying game.
