BOPU seeks to increase water and sewer rates again
CHEYENNE — The Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities is seeking to raise rates for water and sewer services in 2025 by 10% and 8%, respectively. On average, this price hike would up monthly rates by between $2 and $9 for the typical residential consumer.
T-Birds open state with strong win over Rock Springs
GILLETTE — Cheyenne East senior Lillian Vallejo admittedly felt some nerves going into this weekend’s state softball tournament in Gillette. Vallejo spanned 4⅔ innings in the pitcher’s circle in the Thunderbirds’ opening round matchup with Rock Springs, allowing three runs (one earned) on four hits while striking out 10.

CASPER — A pair of repeat state championships came down to the final attempt Friday afternoon at Harry Geldien Stadium. Cheyenne Central junior Karson Tempel was tied with Sheridan senior Calista Roush for the top triple jump mark before uncorking a mark of 38 feet, 3½ inches on her final marked jump to repeat as Class 4A state champion.
