CARBONDALE, Ill. (KFVS) - Candidates for city council and mayor discussed their positions on LGBTQ+ issues during a forum on Wednesday evening, March 22.

Doors opened at 5:30 p.m. and the forum began at 6 p.m.

Pride in Action, a southern Illinois nonprofit social action group, hosted the forum at the Carbondale Public Library.

Six of the seven city council candidates were there, as well as two current mayor candidates.

The forum gave voters a chance to see where the candidates stand on issues that impact the LGBTQ+ community ahead of the election on April 4.
