FBI asks for assistance in arrest of man accused of raping child

(WTAJ) — The FBI is asking for the public’s assistance in finding a man that is wanted for multiple counts of rape and sexual misconduct.

Nehemiah Garcia, 21, is wanted for his alleged involvement in the rape of an 8-year-old victim. On June 13, the victim was lured into the showers at a YMCA in Delaware, where they were held against their will and raped by a male, according to the FBI. The male was later identified as Garcia.

On June 2, an arrest warrant was issued for Garcia after he was charge with two counts of rape in the first degree which caused injury and two counts of dangerous crime against a minor under 14. A federal arrest warrant was issued for Garcia on July 29 after he was charged with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

Garcia is described as having black hair and brown eyes, being 5’9″ and Black. He is listed as having ties to Philadelphia and Cape Coral, Florida.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of Garcia. Anyone with information is asked to call their local FBI field office, submit a tip online by clicking here or calling 1-800-CALL-FBI.
