    FHP: One dead after Friday night crash on Cape Coral Bridge between moped and SUV

    An SUV struck a moped on the Cape Coral Bridge Friday night, killing the 39-year-old moped driver, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

    The crash happened at about 10:30 p.m.

    The moped driver was wearing a helmet, according to FHP’s report, and his next of kin has been notified.

    The SUV’s driver is listed as a 38-year-old Fort Myers woman. According to FHP, she did not suffer injuries.

    Both vehicles were driven by Fort Myers residents, whose names were not been released.

    No matter who is at fault slow moving mopeds and scooters should not be licensed and allowed on roads.
