COCOA — Cocoa defeated (Bushnell) South Sumter 34-14 to advance in the Florida High School Athletic Association’s Class 2S, Region 3 final on Friday night. The Tigers were pushed in a way they had not been in the first two weeks of the playoffs as CHS trailed at halftime 14-12.

In a highly anticipated Regional Final showdown, the South Sumter High Raider football team is poised to face off against the Cocoa Tigers, marking a rematch of last year’s contest. While the Raiders aim to avenge their 35-7 loss from the previous year, Cocoa is no stranger to the pressure, having battled through an overtime thriller in the State Championship against Florida State University High School, ultimately winning 38-31 in overtime last year. Cocoa is trying to get back to the state championship but the Radiers now stand in their way.
