This Shih Tzu Is Searching For Home After Growing Family No Longer Able To Care For Him

    2024-09-05

(MA) Meet Teddy Twilight, an adorable little Shih Tzu mix pup who got dealt an unfortunate hand in life. This pup, along with his brother Enzo, were previously owned pups who were reportedly "very loved". Despite that, their "owners" decided they could no longer care for them, due to the fact that their "family was growing." Luckily, Great Dog Rescue New England was there to help, and now both pups, who are not a bonded pair, are living safely with foster families. Now, Teddy is ready to find his TRUE family that can actually give him the love and attention he so rightfully deserves.

"They were very loved but the family wants these boys to get all of the attention and love that they deserve!" - Great Dog Rescue New England / Petfinder

    More Information On Teddy Twilight

Teddy is a 5-year-old Shih Tzu, Papillon, and Poodle mix pup. He is on the smaller side weighing, as of 8/17/24, approximately 15 pounds. Teddy has a medium coat length, which is listed as being black, gray, blue, silver, white, and cream in color. That is a lot of color, but in my opinion, and based on his pictures, he looks mostly black with some white. He is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. Teddy also knows basic commands and is house and crate-trained.

According to Great Dog Rescue New England, Teddy's main characteristics are playful, outspoken, and energetic. He loves people, and loves nothing more than being cuddled and picked up like a baby by them. He is great with all people he meets, including children ranging in ages. He also loves meeting new pup friends and would do well in a home with another dog. Teddy loves getting pets and going for car rides.

"He has previously lived with a dog, but would also be fine solo without a resident BFF. He is the best boy and we know he will make someone or a family incredibly happy!" - Great Dog Rescue New England / Petfinder

How Can You Help Teddy Twilight?

If you are interested in adopting Teddy please fill out the adoption application form, which can be found here. He is available for adoption to anyone 24 or older and living in New England, NY, NJ, or PA.

Another huge thing you can do to help is consider fostering! There are never enough fosters to meet the demands of all the pups in need. More information on fostering with Great Dog Rescue New England can be found in the fostering section of their official website.

If you cannot adopt or foster, an easy way to help is to share this article or Teddy's Petfinder profile: www.petfinder.com/dog/teddy-twilight

Poor little guy and I don’t understand what a growing family has to do with getting rid of another part of your family. I have a Shih Tzu and he is my little shadow that follows me all over the house and has to be next to me at all times and hogs the bed. He is so lovable and cuddly all the time and he doesn’t like anyone else to get close to me. He likes to show off sometimes by running around the house and acting crazy and making me laugh at him and he is so smart and listens so good.He loves to play fetch all day if you let him but he is a picky eater and I have had to try several kinds of food for him to see what he likes and I buy him chicken every week for a treat.
