MAN JAILED FOLLOWING ALLEGED CAMAS VALLEY ASSAULT

Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a man following an alleged assault in the Camas Valley area early Sunday.

A DCSO report said at about 1:00 a.m. 42-year old Neil Germond and a victim were involved in a disturbance in the 16000 block of Highway 42. The victim claimed that Germond had shattered her cell phone and thrown it into a fire. The victim said the suspect threw her to the ground three times, injuring both of her legs and left hand. She also claimed of pain to her head. The victim was taken to CHI Mercy Medical Center by ambulance.

Germond denied the allegations and said the woman threw her own phone into the fire and fell to the ground on her own. Both people were intoxicated. Juveniles heard and saw some of the incident.

Germond was charged with a felony count of fourth-degree assault, second degree criminal trespass and for multiple warrants. He was detained without bail.
