Calvert County deputies highlight busy week fighting crime

CALVERT COUNTY, MD – Over the course of the week spanning May 22 – May 28, 2023, the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office reported a series of incidents, ranging from vehicle theft to arrests for various offences. The deputies received 1,779 calls for service during this period.

On the morning of Monday, May 22, at 6:56 a.m., deputies responded to a reported theft at the Prince Frederick Chrysler Dodge Jeep Dealership located at 265 S Solomons Island Road in Prince Frederick. An unknown suspect or suspects allegedly stole a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee from within the dealership’s garage between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. The estimated value of the stolen property is $89,000.

A report of a stolen Maryland registration plate came in on Tuesday. The incident allegedly occurred between 3 p.m. on May 21 and 7 p.m. on May 22. The plate was taken from the victim’s vehicle with the estimated value of stolen property being $20.


Several arrests were also made throughout the week. Those arrested included Alexander Jacob Recchio, 35, for drug possession, Joseph Lawrence Bryer, 20, and Thomas Jay Worch, 18, for trespassing and disorderly conduct, George Edward King, 55, for theft and drug possession, Blake Tyler Evans, 24, for theft, Jennifer Lorraine Woomer, 40, for theft and trespassing, and Michael Phillip Wilson, 36, for trespassing and disorderly conduct.

Additionally, DUI arrests for the period May 15 to May 28 included William K. Nichols, 57, Daniel A. Jumalon, 43, and Robert L. Prather Jr., 37.
