A Friday morning rear-end collision in Callaway County injured two people. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Brooklynn A. Morrow, 19, of Jefferson City, at about 9:55 a.m. was driving a Honda Civic northbound on U.S. 63 near Callaway County Road 399, when an SUV pulled out northbound in front of her.

Callaway County traffic stop turns up 2,400 lethal doses of Fentanyl
The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office arrests two Fulton residents with a substantial amount of Fentanyl. It was Friday night, around 8:30 p.m., when deputies conducted a traffic stop on State Road Z near Fulton. The sheriff requested the Fulton Police Department’s K9 and he established probable cause to search the vehicle for drugs. During the search, deputies recovered 4.8 grams of Fentanyl which officials say is enough for 2,400 lethal doses.
Holts Summit elementary schools to receive school resource officer in January
HOLTS SUMMIT - Callaway Hills and North elementary schools will have a school resource officer for the second half of the school year. The Jefferson City School District worked this summer to expand its relationship with the Callaway County Sheriff's Office to add a school resource officer to these schools, which will ensure there is an officer in close proximity. A St. Charles man was injured in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday morning in Callaway County. Around 11:45 a.m., Savanna M. Rogers, 27, of St. Charles, was driving east on I-70 when her 1999 Chevrolet Malibu went off the left side of the road and hit a guardrail, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

Holts Summit man indicted by grand jury for sodomizing young boy
A Callaway County man is indicted by a grand jury for sodomizing a boy less than 12. The indictment was handed down Tuesday, including two counts of sodomy with a person less than 12 and tampering with a felony prosecution. According to court records, between June 30 and July 3 of 2021, Dennis Gallatin, 72, of Holts Summit, engaged in sexual activities with the child. Gallatin then allegedly tried to stop the boy from making a police report.
Fulton man accused of sexually abusing child more than seven years ago scheduled for trial
A jury trial is scheduled for a Callaway County man accused of inappropriately touching a child more than seven years ago. Dustin Brown, 38, of Fulton, was arrested in 2022 and charged with first-degree statutory sodomy. On Monday, a Callaway County judge scheduled Brown for a jury trial to begin April 23, 2024.
