Pittsburgh-area elementary students release trout they raised from eggs
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Kids got a lesson in fish and clean water in Washington County on Thursday. After months of raising trout, students from Trinity Elementary Schools saw their projects come to an end at Mingo Creek Park in Nottingham Township. School buses pulled up to the park filled with fifth graders from Trinity East. The students got off and gathered around three buckets of trout. Update: Tornado warning for Southwest Pa. Saturday evening
On Saturday at 6:28 p.m. an updated tornado warning was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until 6:45 p.m. for Allegheny, Washington and Westmoreland counties. "At 6:28 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Jefferson Hills, or near Gastonville, moving east at 25 mph," states the weather service. "Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely."
