The coroner in Abbeville County, South Carolina says speeding and a woman being on her cellphone and not wearing a seat belt contributed to a deadly crash. Troopers say the crash happened at about 12:30 p.m. Monday afternoon on South Carolina Highway 81, about 3.5 miles north of Calhoun Falls. They say an SUV was traveling north on SC-81 when it went off the right side of the road, overcorrected and then crossed the center of the road. Troopers say the SUV then went back off the right side of the road and overturned, hitting some trees. The driver of the SUV died, according to troopers. The coroner identified the victim as Ryleigh Shaw, 23, of Calhoun Falls. "Preliminary investigation indicates this was an avoidable accident," Dr. Mark Dorn, the coroner, said. Dorn said Shaw was on her cellphone at the time, and speeding was a factor in the crash. She was not wearing a seatbelt, according to Dorn. Shaw died at the scene.
