Calhoun County crash leaves one dead on Saturday

The South Carolina Highway Patrol confirmed the incident occurred around 9:40 p.m. on Saturday, near Fort Motte Road and Dillon Court.

CALHOUN COUNTY, S.C. — A driver has died following a late-night crash in Calhoun County on Saturday.

According to Lance Corporal Brittany Glover with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 9:40 p.m. in the area of Fort Motte Road and Dillon Court which is in Calhoun County.

The lone vehicle involved was a 2003 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck. Glover said that the truck was heading south on Fort Motte Road when it ran off the left side of the road, struck an embankment, and overturned.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash. The victim has not yet been publicly identified by the Calhoun County Coroner's Office.
