    Caledonia softball maintains momentum, wins 3 to stay hot

    The Caledonia Area Warriors softball team came through the week with three wins to bring the squad to 11-1 on the season.

    Monday, April 22 saw the Warriors face off against the St. Charles Saints at home, winning by a score of 9-5. Tuesday, April 23 had the Warriors win away at PEM by a score of 12-1. Finally, on Thursday, April 25, the Warriors were victorious by a score of 11-1.

    Monday at home against St. Charles

    Starting against St. Charles on Monday was Braelyn Lange. The Saints went up 4-1 in the second inning and increased their lead to 5-1 in the third. The Warriors were not discouraged, with Adrienne Lange smoking a home run to center field for the sole Caledonia run in the first inning.

    The Warriors turned the tide in the fourth inning, scoring five runs on six hits to take the lead 9-5.

    The Saints didn't score the rest of the game, and the Warriors would take the win. Lange would go the full game while also striking out 11 batters in the game.

    Top hitters were Elsa Blum, who would go 3-4 with 3 RBIs for the game, Avery Augedahl, Adrienne Lange and Braelyn Lange would also contribute multiple hits as well.

    Tuesday at PEM

    Tuesday saw the softball squad travel to Plainsview-Elgin-Millville for a matchup, with Augedahl taking the circle. Augedahl would control the entirety of the game, only giving up one hit and one run over six innings.

    The Warriors would steer the pace of the game, winning by a score of 12-1 in six innings. The Warriors would rack up 16 hits and 6 stolen bases, dominating all facets of the game.

    Thursday at home against Wabasha-Kellogg

    On Thursday, the contest was at home in Caledonia against Wabasha-Kellogg.

    The Warriors continued their dominance, as Braelyn Lange once again took the circle for the Warriors. Augedahl kicked things off for the Warriors at the plate by sending a ball over the right field fence for a solo home run.

    The Lady Warriors showed off their power at the plate, as Annah Anderson and Paizley Lange both hit home runs as well.

    Braelyn Lange fanned 15 batters while only allowing two hits and walking one. The Warriors also counted 16 hits among the team and played an error-free game.

    Next up for softball is a home game against the Stewartville Tigers on Monday, April 29.
