The Caledonia Area boys basketball team picked up two wins en route to the last week of the basketball season, which includes a rematch with La Crescent at home.

Caledonia won 94-70 against the Rushford-Peterson Trojans on Feb. 13, and the Warriors beat the Cannon Falls Bombers 67-59 on Feb. 17.

Ethan Stendel (No, 14) won the tip and started the scoring for the Warriors in the matchup against the Trojans. The Warriors would rattle off four 3-pointers to go up big early — all made by different players, showcasing the Warriors skill from outside the arc.

This precision shooting continued, and by the end of the barrage, Caledonia was up 40-16 near halfway through the first half. With continual scoring and great defense from the Warriors, they finished out the half with a lead of 52-36.

The second half saw Caledonia maintain its lead. Reid Klug started the scoring with a rebound put back, but the Trojans also came out fighting, getting some buckets of their own.

Despite the renewed vigor by Rushford-Peterson, the Warriors’ offense could not be stopped, and they would go on to win by a score of 94-70. Top scorers in the contest included Garret Konz with a huge night of 31 points, Mason King with 19 points, and Reid Klug with 13 points.

Next up was the Bombers in Cannon Falls. Caledonia went up 36-27 by halftime, and eventually won the contest by a score of 67-59. Top scorers against the Bombers were Mason King with 19 points, Lewis Doyle with 17 points, and Reid Klug with 13 points.

The last week of the scheduled season includes a revenge matchup against the La Crescent-Hokah Lancers at home in Caledonia Monday, Feb. 20. The Lancers won the last contest by a slim margin, and Caledonia will look to even the season series.

Last up on the regular season schedule for the Warriors will be Cotter Schools in Winona on Friday, Feb. 23.
