Washington County Relay for Life set for May 18
BELPRE — The Washington County Relay for Life will celebrate its 30th birthday while continuing the fight against cancer. This year’s event is slated for 3-9:30 p.m. Saturday, May 18, in Belpre’s Civitan Park. There are 15 teams signed up now, but activities are open to the public, with no charge for admission, whether individuals are part of an official team or not, said Carmen Hathaway, senior development manager for the Northeast Region of the American Cancer Society.

Marietta Police release name of man who died in Muskingum River
MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP) - Marietta Police have released the name of the man whose body was found on the banks of the Muskingum River on Tuesday. Marietta Police Captain Ryan Huffman said police and the Montgomery County Coroner identified the man as Jeffrey Keith of New Philadelphia, Ohio. Authorities identified the body on Wednesday and waited to reveal the name publicly in order to inform the family.
