Charges filed after woman found fatally shot inside Belleville home over the weekend
BELLEVILLE, Ill. — A man has been charged in the fatal shooting of a woman who police said they found dead inside her Belleville home over the weekend. St. Clair County prosecutors issued charges on Wednesday against Demario Bush, 35, of Belleville, Illinois, for one count of murder with the intent to kill and one count of possession/use of a firearm while on parole. Each charge is a felony.
Man found guilty in ‘thrill kill’ shooting death of total stranger
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A St. Louis City jury found a St. Louis man guilty Thursday of the 2021 shooting death of a man in the Lindenwood Park neighborhood. A jury found 21-year-old Ledra Craig guilty of first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the killing of 53-year-old Donald Yorker in February 2021. Craig waved jury sentence because first-degree murder carries a sentence of life without parole, prosecutors said.

Johnson, a 57-year-old from Waterloo, is accused of pilfering more than $100,000 from Dupo Community Unit School District #196, according to a U.S. Attorney's Office report. Johnson, who previously managed the district's activities funds, allegedly cooked up a double-dealing deposit slip scam between 2020 and 2022. If convicted, she could face up to a decade in the slammer and be fined up to $250,000 per count.
2nd teen charged as adult in deadly attempted carjacking of woman in front of her daughter
ST. LOUIS — A 14-year-old boy was charged as an adult after police said he shot and killed a mother in front of her daughter in January of 2023. Brian Wellington was certified as an adult and charged with first-degree murder and multiple other charges in connection with the death of 38-year-old Kay Johnson. He was taken into custody Wednesday and is being held without bond.
