Officials are investigating after a teen discovered her parents shot to death in their Utah residence Wednesday night.
Deputy Chad Jensen with the Cache County Sheriff's Office said that deputies and Hyrum first responders were dispatched to the home on Wednesday following reports of two gunshot victims. Upon arrival, officials located two individuals who were both pronounced dead on the scene.
A 37-year-old woman was found with a gunshot wound in a bedroom, while a 38-year-old man was found dead in another, undisclosed area of the house.
"The victims were married at the time of the incident and the shooting was discovered by the couple's 16-year-old daughter," sheriff's documents stated.
Jensen said that this investigation is ongoing and that more information will be released once it is complete.
Officials confirmed there was no evidence to suggest that this incident poses a public risk. Victims' advocates are reportedly working with the 16-year-old to assist with family notification.
