1. Walk-on quarterback for Arkansas released after allegations of abuse surface
A student-athlete for the Arkansas Razorbacks has been released from the football team after allegations of abuse surfaced, Arkansas Athletics confirmed Thursday.
According to a spokesperson for the team, walk-on quarterback Kade Renfro was released after allegations of abuse surfaced earlier this week.
"Upon gaining knowledge of the allegations against a student-athlete earlier this week, we immediately informed the University’s Title IX office of the allegations," a statement from the Arkansas athletic department read. "The student-athlete is no longer a member of the football team."

2. Wanted suspect in custody after leading Arkansas police on 120 mph, multi-city chase
A suspect with outstanding warrants was arrested Saturday after leading state police troopers on a high-speed chase throughout central Arkansas.
According to state police, the suspect fled from troopers and was driving at speeds of up to 120 miles per hour during heavy weekend traffic.
"Thanks to motorists on I-40 NLR, I-30 LR, Springer Avenue, and Roosevelt Road for staying alert and exercising caution so that ASP could end this dangerous pursuit safely," the state's top law enforcement agency said on social media.

3. 2 juveniles dead, 2 injured after train crashes into vehicle in southwest Arkansas
Clark County Sheriff's Office announced Thursday two juveniles died and two were injured in an incident that involved a car and train.
The sheriff's office said the train was traveling from the south to the north.
Law enforcement was made aware of the incident at 1:40 p.m.

4. UPS driver in critical condition after being shot at a home in south Little Rock
Little Rock police do have an update regarding the UPS driver being shot.
The driver was still in critical condition at 9 p.m. Wednesday night, and police believe the shooting was not random.
There was no theft of property, but police said it appeared that the individuals involved knew one another.

5. Police: 2 pedestrians, possibly juvenile, killed by train in Cabot
Two people - possibly juveniles - were hit and killed by a train in Cabot Saturday evening, authorities said Sunday.
According to Cabot police, the pair were struck by the train while walking on foot along the railroad tracks.
The incident happened around 7 p.m. in the area of the baseball fields in Cabot but not near any crossings, police said.

6. 28-year-old Arkansas man drowns after boating accident on Lake Hamilton
A 28-year-old Pine Bluff man died Saturday after the rental boat he was on was involved in an accident on Lake Hamilton, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission confirmed Monday.
According to the commission, Lorenzo Martrell Morgan drowned after the pontoon he was on was involved in an accident near Lookout Point shortly after 11:30 a.m.
Officials said the water was over 29 feet deep where the accident occurred.

7. Man, woman arrested in Arkansas following rape of 5-year-old with power tool
A man and woman were arrested last month after authorities said they held down a 5-year-old and raped her with a power tool in Arkansas.
According to the Logan County Sheriff's Office, 24-year-old Saria Galvan, and 26-year-old Andrew Giboney were both arrested and charged with rape of the girl in the southern part of the county.
The sheriff's office said in a Facebook post that a report was made last month regarding the supposed rape.
