One person died in a multi-vehicle crash in Butler Township Tuesday evening, township police said. The crash occurred on Route 8 at Litman Road at about 6:50 p.m.Police said Julie Parison, 51, of Mars, was traveling south on Route 8 when she hit an SUV that was stopped at a red traffic signal. The SUV then crossed the road and struck a northbound car that was also stopped at the light, police said.A passenger in the front seat of the SUV died, police said. He was identified as Kevin McAtee, 61, of Saxonburg. Police said the driver of that vehicle and the driver of the northbound car were taken to hospitals.Police said Parison faces charges that include homicide by vehicle.Parison was taken to the hospital and will be arraigned following her release, police said.The crash remains under investigation, police said.
