Burrillville man accused of strangling child

A Burrillville man was charged with second-degree child abuse for allegedly strangling a child.

Kevin Pomfret, 37, is accused of strangling a victim under the age of 14 on Jan. 10, according to the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office.
The man, facing one count of second-degree child abuse, surrendered himself to authorities on Feb. 2.
He was charged by the attorney general's office on May 1.

Pomfret is scheduled for a pre-arraignment conference on July 1 in Providence Superior Court.
