Easter festivities planned for southeastern N.C. communities

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - Communities across southeastern North Carolina plan to celebrate Easter with various public events.

Carolina Beach

The Town of Carolina Beach has announced that a free Easter egg hunt will take place at 6:15 p.m. at Mike Chappell Park on Thursday, April 6.

Per the announcement, the egg hunt is part of their “Easter Jamboree,” which will run from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and include:

  • Inflatable bounce houses
  • Hotodgs
  • Hayrides
  • Pictures with the Easter Bunny
  • Storytelling from Campfireball
  • Interactive characters
  • A photo booth
  • DJ Tommy Gunn from Jammin’ 99.9

Mike Chappell Park is located at 501 Dow Road in Carolina Beach.

Tabor City

Columbus County Parks and Recreation have announced that an Easter egg hunt will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 8 at the Tabor City Recreation Complex.

Surf City

Surf City Parks, Recreation, and Tourism will host an “Easter Egg Drip Drop” from 10 a.m. to noon, or until eggs run out, on Saturday, April 8.

Due to the potential for inclement weather, the town is asking participants to bring their own basket to the Surf City Community Center to pick up Easter eggs.

Additionally, there will be a photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny.

The Surf City Community Center is located at 201 Community Center Drive.
