Proud parents of the San Marino High School Class of 2023 enjoyed an evening in the quad during the Senior Parent Dinner on May 18. This annual tradition is a special time to celebrate as a community, which for some has been a 13-year journey through San Marino schools’ K-12th grade.

SMHS Embraces Senior Parent Dinner Tradition

San Marino High School students were ready to party in honor of the Class of 2023 at the SMHS Luau held on May 19. The event kicked off with Spirit Games on the football field with class-level competition event and a slippery foam area. The group then headed to the quad where the music was playing where there were food trucks, a Hawaiian-themed photo booth, silly caricature drawings and an opportunity for students to sign each other’s yearbooks.

The Rotary Club of San Marino recently distributed its community grants to six local nonprofits. San Marino Rotary Foundation Chair John Jones provided background on the process and the group heard from members of the recipient organizations, each of which received a grant of $3,500 for a total donation of $21,000. The organizations are Beat the Streets; Give, Mentor, Love; Families Forward; Cancer Support Community; Villa Esperanza; and Pasadena Village.
