Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR 550) – Edge rusher Leonard Floyd participated in his first practice with the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday, as Organized Team Activities (OTAs) continued in Orchard Park.
Floyd officially signed with the Bills on Tuesday to a one-year deal after agreeing to join the team earlier in the week.

When speaking with the media on Tuesday for the first time since signing in Buffalo, he said there were a couple of reasons why he joined the Bills.
"It’s the people. I feel like if you have great people in the building, they bring out the best in the players. I feel that way with the Bills," said Floyd. "I might just play my best ball on the Bills just being around great people and great teammates."

As far as his first few days and first practice in Orchard Park, Floyd says it’s been a great experience so far.
"Getting out there and acclimated to the new team and my new teammates, it was a pretty good first day," Floyd said.
Another reason Floyd wanted to play in Buffalo had nothing to do with the people, the defense or Von Miller. It had to do with quarterback Josh Allen.
"That’s really the biggest thing," he said. "I’ve got one of the best quarterbacks or top-two quarterbacks in the league, a real juggernaut that I hated playing against him. I’m happy he’s my teammate now."
When Miller found out Floyd had been talking to the Bills, he kept calling Floyd, telling him he had to come to Buffalo. What was Miller’s selling point?
"A Super Bowl ring," Floyd said of his teammate in Los Angeles. "Von was the person that helped me get mine, and once he said that, I was like, 'Yeah Von, you know that’s what I want.”
Floyd also wanted to know the details on how the staff treated the players and how the team is. Floyd says Miller told him this was a great place, and both sides made a contract happen.
After signing with Los Angeles from the Chicago Bears, Floyd improved his numbers with the Rams. In four seasons in Chicago, Floyd had 18.5 sacks. In three years with the Rams, Floyd had 10.5, 9.5 and nine sacks respectively.
"When I was in Chicago, I really didn’t get the sacks that I wanted to. Then when I got to L.A., I made sure I had a chip on my shoulder, and I worked on my game so I could get those sacks," Floyd said.
There are five players that won the Super Bowl with the Rams that are now members of the Bills' roster.
"Some guys I didn’t even know came to the team like Travin [Howard]. I ran into him and just said, 'What’s up?'," Floyd said. "It’s been good to see some of my old teammates with my new teammates."
Floyd seems to have a special chemistry with Miller. He said it stemmed from the want to win.
"It’s the belief we had in each other to get our job done," Floyd explained. "He knows he got his side and that I got my side, and we’re going to get to the quarterback and have fun."
Floyd is wearing No. 56 for the Bills. He wore No. 54 with the Rams and No. 94 with the Bears.
