Phoenix, Ariz. (WGR 550) - Last week, many in the football world tied the Buffalo Bills to Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, especially after the wideout posted some of the song lyrics to “Buffalo Soldier” by Bob Marley to his official Instagram account.

At the annual NFL league meetings on Monday in Arizona, Bills general manager Brandon Beane cautioned for people not to read too much into those things.

“He’s on the Arizona Cardinals,” Beane said when asked about a potential interest in Hopkins.

“What I would say is social media is social media. Don’t take that too far.”

It’s been widely reported the Cardinals are looking to deal the three-time All-Pro wideout, and Buffalo has been mentioned as a good fit, and even possible destination.

While Beane won’t talk about a player currently on another team, he didn’t close the door on adding any player that may be available.

"You know me, we’re always going to look for talent," Beane said while speaking to reporters at the Arizona Biltmore Hotel. "We’re going to look at anything and everything, and you know our name gets thrown into the hat of a lot of things that sometimes we’ve done 1%. One person made one call, and they’ve looped us in that we’re all over him and we’ve offered him a contract. It’s funny sometimes. That’s as far as I can go into it. He’s on another team."

While Hopkins is currently under contract with the Cardinals, Odell Beckham Jr. remains unsigned. Beane reiterated that as long as a player is available, the Bills will monitor his situation.

“Until someone’s gone, I wouldn’t close the door on anything,” he said. “I think you’ve always got to assume that we’ll always look and pay attention to people’s markets and their skill-sets and if they’re a free agent or if it’s someone to trade for."
