Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) – With 12 games remaining in the 2022-23 NHL season, the Buffalo Sabres all-of-the-sudden face a daunting task ahead of them if they are to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time in 12 years.
Heading into Friday night's matchup with the New Jersey Devils at KeyBank Center, the Sabres are eight points out of a playoff spot behind the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Eastern Conference. Along the way, they also have to leap frog three other teams that sit ahead of them in the standings.
On top of all that, the Sabres have lost four-straight games, and only have two wins in the entire month of March, to this point.

While, the end of the Sabres' season has not been going great with a chance to end their playoff drought, Sabres general manager Kevyn Adams took the time to reiterate on Friday this is not the same team in Buffalo as in years past.
“We have guys who are extremely passionate about this organization and this city, and they feel really disheartened," said Adams during an appearance on "Schopp and the Bulldog" on WGR. "They feel like they are letting people down, and I’ll take that everyday of the week compared to the last few years.”
As the Sabres look to snap out of their funk and make one final attempt to close the gap in the Eastern Conference, rookie goaltender Devon Levi finally had his immigration process finalized, and was able to skate with his teammates during Friday's morning skate. Adams says he's excited about Levi’s integration into the group for the final stretch run.
“He’s just one of those people that when I talk about what I’m looking for in a Sabre, he’s it,” Adams said with Mike Schopp and Chris "Bulldog" Parker.
