Buffalo N.Y. (WGR 550) - It has been a rough stretch of hockey for the Buffalo Sabres, as they have lost nine of their last 11 games. This includes two blowout losses at home to the Dallas Stars and Boston Bruins.
Buffalo looks to get back out of its slump on Tuesday night, as they take on the Nashville Predators with 13 games to go in the regular season.

In their last game Sunday against the Bruins, Sabres head coach Don Granato felt his team was putting too much pressure on the situation they were in. Being down 3-0 at the end of the first period, Granato said they were playing a bit tight.
Star forward Tage Thompson has been on a bit of a cold streak compared to the production he had earlier this season. Granato feels Thompson is still getting his opportunities to score during his recent stretch.
“As a team, as individuals, sometimes the pressure gets the best of you until you learn how to deal with it, and push through it,” said Granato during his recent appearance on the "Jeremy White Show" on WGR.
Granato also says Thompson needs to simplify his game. By complicating things, it gives the advantage for the other team.
Since the NHL Trade Deadline, Jordan Greenway has been moved around the lineup, being stuck on a number of different lines. Granato still believes he has not reached his full potential with the Sabres.
“He’ll push through it," Granato said with Jeremy White and Joe DiBiase. "He, again, everything that we said when we acquired him, has that at this level already.”
Some exciting news happened over the weekend, as the Sabres finally got their top goalie prospect signed to his entry-level contract. Devon Levi was able to put ink to paper after his college season was over at Northeastern. Granato has been very impressed with the young goaltender not only as a player, but as a person.
“There’s a lot to be excited about both as a person and, obviously, as a player with what he has accomplished at the college level,” Granato said.
