That's one way to scratch an itch.

One lucky patron of a Southampton retailer purchased a winning Pennsylvania Lottery scratch-off ticket on Tuesday, worth $3 million.

Customer purchases winning Diamonds and Gold scratch-off

The winning $3 million Diamonds and Gold ticket was sold at the Speedway at 724 Street Road in Southampton.

The $3 million Diamonds and Gold scratch-off ticket itself is $30.

The speedway also walks away a winner, as it will receive $10,000 for selling the winning ticket.

Scratch-offs are distributed at random, so neither the Pennsylvania Lottery nor retailers know where winning tickets will be sold.

The Pennsylvania Lottery learns where winning tickets are sold only after a prize has been claimed.
