    On Thursday, May 9, the Lake Buchanan/ Inks Lake Chamber of Commerce announced the retirement of Steve Buchanan as the executive director of the chamber and manager of the Visitor Center.

    Steve was awarded a plaque stating his lifetime membership in honor of his years of service to the chamber and work at the visitor center.

    Ray Buchanan, who serves as the secretary and treasurer of the chamber, presented this plaque to his son, Steve, at the board of director’s meeting.

    Also announced at the meeting is the appointment of Joe Woolsey as the new executive director and Visitor Center manager.

    The Visitor Center, located at 19611 E. Texas 29 in Buchanan Dam is a gem hosting the Buchanan Art Gallery, a great view of the dam and an ideal place for birders to view American bald eagles as they nest and raise their young.
