St. Joseph School District superintendent Dr. Gabe Edgar is facing potential charges after an arrest in Buchanan County.
Missouri State Highway Patrol records show Edgar, 49, was arrested at 6:48 Sunday evening.
Arrest records show MSHP cited charges for misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right side of the roadway.
As of Monday afternoon, Missouri court records do not show official charges yet.
A district spokeswoman confirmed in an email that the arrest record is accurate for Edgar, the current superintendent.
The district released the following statement Monday:
"The St. Joseph School District is aware of the situation involving Dr. Gabe Edgar. While we understand questions may arise, we cannot provide additional information as it relates to a confidential personnel matter of the district.
Please be assured that the District takes the allegations seriously and will continue to monitor any developments regarding this matter."
Edgar previously served as superintendent in Marceline, Mo.
