WE BEGIN TONIGHT WITHBREAKING NEWS. ONE PERSON IS DEAD FOLLOWING A CRASH ON I-16 IN BRYAN COUNTY. TROOPERS TELL US IT HAPPENED NEAR HIGHWAY 280. WJCL 22 NEWS' BROOKE BUTLER JOINS US NOW LIVE FROM THE I-16, HIGHWAY 280 INTERCHANGE. AND BROOKE, THAT CRASH HAD TRAFFIC BACKED UP FOR HOURS. YEAH SHANNON. TROOPERS TELL US THE CRASH HAPPENED AT AROUND 7 THIS EVENING. THE ROAD WASN'T CLEARED UNTIL AROUND 9. TAKE A LOOK AT THIS VIDEO. YOU CAN SEE THE STANDSTILL TRAFFIC ON I16 BEGINNING TO MOVE AS THE LANES REOPENED. WE NOW KNOW A MOTORCYCLIST DIED IN THIS CRASH. GSP TELLS US THAT MOTORCYCLIST CRASHED INTO A TRACTOR TRAILER, BUT THEY COULD NOT YET TELL US HOW EXACTLY IT HAPPENED. TROOPERS HAVE NOT RELEASED THE IDENTITY OF THE MOTORCYCLE DRIVER YET AND THEY WILL NOT UNTIL THEIR FAMILY HAS BEEN NOTIFIED OF THEIR DEATH. BUT YOU CAN SEE BEHIND ME THE SCENE HERE HAS SINCE CLEARED.
