Brunswick celebrates Blessing of the Fleet
The 86th Blessing of the Fleet recently took place. It is the oldest event of its kind in the U.S. This year, there was a kids' fishing tournament at Liberty Ship Park, the traditional Blessing ceremony and food trucks at Mary Ross Waterfront Park, and a street festival along Newcastle and Gloucester streets. Activities included live music by the Page Brothers and the Flood Brothers, shopping at vendors' booths, a fashion show presented by Cricket Shop, in Machen Square, next to the store and more.
Music and Memories benefits Memory Matters
Music and Memories was held recently at the A.W. Jones Heritage Center, on St. Simons Island. Proceeds benefitted Memory Matters Glynn, which works with people who have dementia-related illnesses and their caretakers. The event featured music by Hot Banana Coffee, Michael Hulett, and DJ Yolanda Neely, along with hors d'oeuvres, dinner and raffles.
