The crash caused a major traffic delay Monday morning.

BRUCEVILLE-EDDY, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety has released the details of a crash that shut down traffic along I-35 on June 5.

According to DPS, a truck tractor semi was traveling in the outside northbound lane of I-35 in Bruceville-Eddy when two pickup trucks traveling together attempted to pass in the inside lane.

DPS reported one of the pickups tried to cut in too soon and struck the tire of the semi, causing the semi to pull left and hit the second pickup. The semi then reportedly hit the center wall of the highway.

The semi truck reportedly flipped on its side and leaked diesel fuel onto the highway, causing all southbound lanes to be shut down as hazmat crews worked to clean up the scene.

Thankfully, DPS stated that none of the three drivers involved were injured in the crash.

The scene has since been cleared and traffic is once again flowing regularly.
