Good news on the baseball diamond as the first place Lions got off to a strong start with 4 runs in the first at bat and never looked back.  Final score Brownwood 13, Mineral Wells 3.  The Lions are now 4-1 in district and will host Mineral Wells this Friday night at 7 o’clock at Morris Southall Field.

The Lady Lion softball team got back in the win column with a 7 to 1 victory over Mineral Wells.  The Lady Lions now 2-1 in district will attempt to sweep Mineral Wells at Lady Lion Field this Friday night at 6:30.

The Brownwood Lady Lions controlled momentum through much of their Area Soccer contest with Benbrook but fell 2 to 1 in overtime.  The Lady Lions (16-6-1) grabbed the lead in the first half on a Braycee Lee goal off an assist from Molly Oliver at the 17:35 mark but were unable to find the net again.  The Lady Lions, the third seed out of District 5, finished their season with a 14th consecutive bi-district championship.

In the boys game, it was Fort Worth Diamond Hill Jarvis that ended the Lions soccer season by a final of 6 to nothing. The Lions were 13-12-1 this season.

In other games played Tuesday afternoon and evening:

Baseball – The Bangs Dragons rallied in the 7th inning to beat Miles 10 to 9 last night.  The Dragons are now 4-1 in district and will host Coleman this Friday night in Bangs.  Coleman coming off a 16 to nothing victory in De Leon last night. Coleman’s Jorge Salas hit two home runs while Ryland Gentry drove one out of the park so the Coleman and Bangs game Friday night should be a good one in Bangs.

A big baseball win for the Early Longhorns last night, 15 to 1 at Comanche.  The 4-1 Horns are now alone in 2nd place in District as they travel to Eastland this coming Friday night.

Girls Softball – Bangs Lady Dragons were victorious 12 to 2 over Miles but it was the first time in district that a district opponent actually scored against Bangs.  The Lady Dragons now 6 and 0 to lead District 6-2A softball.  Next opponent is Santa Anna on Friday night in Bangs.  Santa Anna lost last night to Coleman 12 to 3.

The Early Lady Horns are now ranked 11th in the State and they pick up a 6 to 3 road win last night in Comanche.  Early finishes the first half of district in first place.
