BROWNSBURG, Ind. — Witnesses told police that a Brownsburg woman attacked her daughter with disabilities inside a Wendy’s before dragging her out across the sidewalk and stomping on her.
Dana Rae Snyder, 67, was arrested on Sunday evening. She is charged with one count of battery as a Level 5 felony.
According to court documents, police were called to the Brownsburg Wendy’s on N. Green Street at approximately 6:12 p.m. on report of an assault.
Brownsburg police arrived and were told by Wendy’s employees that Snyder had assaulted her daughter with disabilities both inside and outside the restaurant.
Police said Snyder’s daughter was crying hysterically when officers arrived on scene with dirt and debris on her clothing and a “road rash” wound on her elbow from being dragged across cement.
According to witnesses and store security footage, Snyder assaulted her daughter while the pair were in the restaurant. It began with Snyder trying to drag her daughter out of a booth and escalated to Snyder slapping her daughter in the face multiple times and dragging her out of the restaurant.
Wendy’s employees told police that, once outside, Snyder dragged her daughter across the cement sidewalk and stomped on the victim’s chest and head. Police noted a shoe print on the victim’s shirt.
Police said that Snyder’s daughter was so scared and hysterical that she vomited. The victim was reportedly screaming and crying out for help while her mother beat her.
According to court documents, officers watched footage that showed Snyder not only slapping her daughter in the face but pulling her daughter’s hair and kneeing the victim. Police did not document the daughter hitting Snyder back, only raising her arms to try and protect herself.
If convicted, Snyder could face between one and six years in prison.
