“We’ve got a lot of returning and talented young players turning out,” Browning softball coach Jim Vaile said of the 2023 Lady Indian diamond dwellers. “And we hired a pitching coach, Snow Arrowtopknot-Wagner.”

A total of 29 athletes turned out, including four-year veteran Susan Connelly who is returning as pitcher. She will be joined by Kaytins Evans at first base, Brooke Blue at shortstop and Kaylee Upham on third base.

While the BHS diamond is ready to go, the team has been practicing mostly indoors although the coach says he hopes for some outdoor sessions this week.

If so, it will be just in time for their first outing, meeting up with several other schools at the Cut Bank Softball Jamboree. Last year, the coach notes Conrad, Havre and Great Falls Central attended so there should be all kinds of softball action to go around.
